Architecture Takes Center Stage With AIA Look Up Film Challenge

Chicago River--Looking Up

Chicago River–Looking Up

Aspiring filmmakers who appreciate good design have two more days to register for the AIA’s Look Up Film Challenge. Registration closes on July 15, and the competition kicks off on July 17.

Awards include $3,000 in cash prizes and two roundtrip tickets to Austin, Texas, plus entry to the South by Southwest festival.

Winners will be chosen by how well they achieve the goal, to look up and see what architects are doing to build the environment. It’s part of an AIA public awareness campaign to raise awareness about the connection between architecture and the world around us.

The challenge is to product a short film (three to five minutes long) in 16 days. If you don’t have a big film crew, that’s even better. Teams can be made up of one to three people. Registration information is available here.
